Tracy Bowers is a Principal at Cordia Partners, a professional services firm that provides outsourced accounting services to Washington D.C. metropolitan area businesses.

With over 20 years of accounting experience, Tracy started her career in the audit field and was Assurance Senior Manager at Grant Thornton LLP focusing 100% on non-profit entities. Her areas of focus included multi-entity trade associations, with significant conference and event income; international non-profits with substantial federal funding requiring additional audit procedures dictated by OMB Circular’s A-133 and A-122 (now known as the Uniform guidance); and other agree-upon procedures that included the improvement and enhancement of the internal control structure of her clients.

After leaving public accounting, Tracy continued serving non-profit organizations as Assistant Controller for two large international organizations in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area before landing at Cordia.

As a Principal with Cordia, Tracy continues to be an industry expert, who utilizes her exposure to a multitude of non-profit organizations to aid in her service to her current and future clients. Tracy works with accounting teams and organizational leadership on strategy and technical matters, implementation of new accounting standards, strengthening internal controls and process improvements utilizing technology, budgeting, grant compliance, and reporting and audit assistance.

Tracy is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Virginia and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Society of Association Executives. She has served on the Board of Directors of Families4Families DMV for 2 years. Tracy is a Virginia native, who graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and currently resides in Fairfax, Virginia.
